About

Artist Statement

Inspired by my own traumas of breast cancer, both physical and psychological,  my  subjects are largely autobiographical .Through time, my artistic work changes as I still struggle to accept the scarred breast I see. On a recurrent basis,  I use mannequins, which symbolize the stereotyping of the female body and I transform them into a completely different representation.

I achieve this by creating three-dimensional works of art reutilizing recycled and unrelated objects, using assorted materials and diverting them from their conventional function.

I have a passion for objects. I use objects surrounding me as I choose words in a dictionary for expressing myself.

This is how new abstract artifacts are completed and how they acquire a new life as works of Art.

Whilst I appreciate the abstract form, my interest is in the human and psychological features of my three-dimensional work.

My sculptures are metaphors of the quest for balance, both physically and emotionally, in the midst of internal or external chaos. . They also evoke unlimited possibilities of finding new meaning in our lives.
